Change of plans? Up to 24 h before the ceremony we will move your booking to any other free date — just message us. Bookings are non-refundable (a service with a fixed date); rescheduling is free.

Cha he — meeting the leaves before brewing

Take a seat at our table. We will brew a few teas, tell you where they come from and why they taste the way they do — and show you how to get the best out of the leaves. Intimate, up to 5 people, at al. Grunwaldzka 69.

You do not need to know anything about tea. Curiosity is enough — our tea master takes care of the rest.

What to expect

you will taste several teas side by side — and feel differences you cannot get from descriptions;
you will hear each tea’s story: region, cultivar, processing, storage — everything that shapes the taste;
you will watch the brewing technique up close: temperature, time, ratios — and take it home;
you will take home 5 g of each tea we taste — for your own brewing;
you will feel the “tea state”: calm and focus that arrive on their own, cup after cup.

Why come to a ceremony?

To pause. Two hours without your phone — tea sets its own, slower rhythm.
To try before you buy. Several teas in one afternoon — easier to find “yours” before buying a full pack.
To learn brewing. The same leaves can taste completely different at home — we will show you why.
To meet people. At a table for five, conversation starts by itself.
As a gift. An invitation to a ceremony is an unusual present — you can book a whole session for your people.

Two formats

Comparative tasting

Our main format — social and full of conversation. We meet, taste, ask questions. This is how most ceremonies at the shop look.

Gongfu cha

The classical Chinese art of brewing — more silence and mindfulness, fewer words. By prior arrangement, also off-site.

We love comparisons

the same tea on two different waters — the difference can surprise you more than changing the tea;
two versions of one sheng puer: ancient trees vs young bushes — same processing, completely different cup;
teas from different mountains: Alishan, Bulang Shan, Wuyi rock oolongs with their famous “rock rhyme” (yan yun).

Taste is best understood in comparison. Drinking alone at home, it is hard to grasp what makes a tea special — in a small group, with a master, you feel it at once. The tea universe is practically endless. It is best explored together — the start of your own tea path, cha dao.

FAQ

Do I need to know anything about tea?

No. Most of our guests start from zero — the master guides you through everything. Just bring curiosity.

How long does it take?

Usually about 1.5–2 hours. The exact time depends on the format — we confirm it when you book.

How much does it cost?

100 zł per person. That includes all the teas we taste, the master’s guidance — and 5 g of each tasted tea to take home. Dates are confirmed when you book.

Can I come alone? With someone?

As you like: solo, as a pair, with friends. Groups are up to 5 people — you can also book the whole session privately.

Can I buy the teas we taste?

Yes — all of them are available in the shop and online. After a tasting it is much easier to pick “yours”.

I can’t make it — what about my booking?

Up to 24 hours before the ceremony we will move your booking to any other free date, free of charge — message @zentea.gdansk on Instagram or call +48 799 059 486. Cancellations without rescheduling are non-refundable: the ceremony is a service with a fixed date.
